Contrary to what people think

Living a Flourishing Life

The happiness people try so hard to find is more than just being happy, and more than being rooted in being healthy, wealthy, and wise. It is more than being a solid person of faith following after God and more than being physically healthy or an amazing athlete. Furthermore, it’s even more than having a social status within the top five percent on social media and living within a community that aligns well with one’s lifestyle.

According to Gallup (see below)

What helps in discovering happiness, living a balanced and flourishing life, is how well one lives out five essential elements of their wellbeing, interdependently.

5 essential elements of Wellbeing:

  1. Career Wellbeing – enjoying one thing every day and thouroughly enjoy doing it.
  2. Social Wellbeing – having strong and supportive relationships.
  3. Financial Wellbeing – effectively managing one’s economic life.
  4. Physical Wellbeing – having enough energy to get things done daily.
  5. Community Wellbeing – enjoying the area one lives by being active within it.

“Gallup scientists partnered with leading economists, psychologists, and other acclaimed scientists, exploring the common elements of wellbeing that transcend countries and cultures. A comprehensive global study of more than 150 countries, from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe, encompassing the wellbeing of more than 98% of the world’s population.

What they discovered is that when you spend an immense amount of time in one wellbeing area of your life it can actually be detrimental to your overall wellbeing. So many people dedicate an excessive amount of time and energy trying to look good and make an impression within their job that it negatively impacts their relationships.”

~Tom Rath and Jim Harter, ‘WELLBEING The Five Essential Elements.

Every day each person has a choice as to how they will live their day.

Many people wake up each morning on autopilot, with less than 2% of the world’s population living with a purpose in mind.

This is how “Daily Drives” was born.

The single biggest threat to your wellbeing is yourself. Without even giving it much thought, you allow your short-term decisions to override what’s best for your long-term wellbeing.

Daily Drives – living a flourishing life

Writing a Daily Drive helps a person’s mind reset and renew in living their purpose

  • Begin living life authentically
  • Take yourself off autopilot with intention
  • Learn a faith-based strategy on how to manage anxieties, fears, sadness, and shame

Learn how to increase self awareness and attunement by asking oneself 3 questions:

  1. How do I want to Be?
  2. How do I want to Feel?
  3. What is my Because, my reason for how come I want to live this way?

Daily Drive example: Be committed with faithfulness because everyone’s lives matter.

The Gottman’s Institute

The leaders in over 40 years of scientific research on relationships, and their research shows that when one person makes a positive change in managing their thoughts, words, and actions, it can have up to a 40% positive impact within their relationships, at work and at home.

Blessings to your living a flourishing life,
